Harold F. Greeney

Harold first came to Ecuador to study butterflies under the guidance of Phillip J. DeVries and to work as a naturalist guide in Ecuador's Amazon. After guiding and studying in the Amazon for several years he created the Yanayacu Biological Station & Center for Creative Studies in the cloud forest of eastern Ecuador. His interest in birds began in 2001 with the discovery of the first known nest of the Bicolored Antvireo (Dysithamnus occidentalis). Since then he has studied the breeding biology of many species, but his favorite remains the Spotted Barbtail (Premnoplex brunnescens). He lives at the Yanayacu Biology Station and continues to study birds and insects throughout Ecuador. His email is:
